Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information L3git Development ("L3git", "we") collects when you use l3dev.com and the L3git software (the "Service"), and how we use it. L3git is designed to be local-first and to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
Account & support
- Email address — to create your account, sign you in (passwordless magic link), send your license key and receipts, and provide support.
- Sign-in tokens — short-lived, single-use, stored only as hashes.
License activation & seat enforcement
- When you activate online, the software may send: a hash of your license key, a per-install identifier, a short machine fingerprint / hostname, your edition, and the IP address of the request. This is used only to enforce your seat count and confirm your license is valid.
- Air-gapped / offline licenses do not contact us at all.
Payment
- Purchases are handled by our third-party merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment and provides us your name, email, edition, seat count, and subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy applies to the checkout.
Website & updates
- A first-party session cookie for the account portal (sign-in state). No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- Standard server logs (IP, timestamp, request) for security and reliability.
- The software's update check sends your version and edition to our update endpoint to tell you if a newer build exists.
- If you submit the contact form, we receive what you enter (name, email, message) to reply.
What we do NOT collect
- Your recorded tests, generated code, projects, or files.
- The API requests, responses, URLs, tokens, or secrets you test with.
- Your AI provider key or its usage — it stays on your machine and is sent only to the AI provider you chose, never to us.
How we use information
- to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- to deliver, activate, and enforce your license and seats;
- to process payments, renewals, and refunds (via Lemon Squeezy);
- to communicate with you about your account, license, receipts, updates, and support;
- to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues; and
- to comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service (for example, Lemon Squeezy for payments, and our hosting/email providers), each processing data on our behalf; when required by law or to protect our rights and users; or in connection with a business transfer. That's it.
Retention
We keep account, license, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Sign-in tokens and short-lived data are deleted or expired promptly. You can ask us to delete your account data, subject to records we must keep by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information (for example, HTTPS, hashed tokens, and signed license keys). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise them, contact us at the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Children
The Service is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
International
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes
We may update this Policy; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes take effect when posted.
